You say you don't want to reinstall Office if you don't have to. I'm not sure you have to, but reinstalling it can be really, really easy...if you have the install CD or disk image. Try this:
1. Locate the folder that now contains Office, usually called "Microsoft Office 2004". Drag this folder to a neutral location, perhaps to the Desktop or a folder on the desktop. 2. Mount your install disk. Instead of running the installer, just drag the "Microsoft Office 2004" folder from the install disk to your Applications folder. That's it. You now have a freshly installed version of Office. Try running Entourage from the new install and see if you have the crashing problem. If you do, the problem may be with the database or with some Office preferences (which have not been affected by installing a fresh copy of the apps), but at least you will have eliminated the apps as the source of the problem.
