Odd font when pasting

Title: Odd font when pasting

I just upgraded to OS X (Mac G4, Entourage 2001) and now when I copy anything from the web and paste into an email, the font is Curtiz MT, which is awfully hard to read with its little curly serifs. When I was using OS 9, pasted copy was something normal like Verdana. I sometimes use Mac mail — but not often — and pasted info into that is my normal font.

I can’t figure how to change this so that when I paste, the font is normal. As it’s working now, I have to change the font of everything I paste into email. It’s a hassle and time consuming.

I looked under preferences but didn’t see anything that seemed to pertain to this.
