Sorry...your message isn't very clear to me, so you may need to clarify
based on my responses below.

In Entourage 2004 you would find the folder named "Identity_name [Backed up
_date_]" that is found in:

/Users/your_user_name/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/

That is the old identity, pre-rebuild that you can toss if the new identity
is working properly.

It's even easier in 2004 because it's all packaged up nicely in one folder.

I assume that by "lost" you mean that those items are missing from the newly
rebuilt database. If you go to the "Entourage" menu, select "Switch
Identity", and then pick the old identity, are your missing items still
there?

I'm not sure what this means. Do you mean that you did figure out how to
delete the identity, and then went to the Trash in the Finder to retrieve
it? In which case, why ask the first question in this post?
