Title: Keyboard short-cuts quit!

This is a mystery.  Periodically (and I’ve not yet been able to establish a link to any situation, time or effect), I lose the ability to invoke a new message, send and receive mail, etc. from my keyboard—cmd-N, cmd-K, etc.

It’s true whether I use my PowerBook’s keyboard or the attached external USB one from Apple; it doesn’t affect regular typing (that’s what I ‘m doing right now)--it just affects keyboard command short-cuts.  Now, I did just update to 10.4.8, but repaired permissions on either side of the update, so I don’t think that it’s that.  I’m running 10.4.8 on  a PowerBook G4 1.67GHz (not dual layer DVD) with 1Gb of RAM.  

I just quit the program and restarted it to see how that affected it, and now I can use keyboard shortcuts again.  Obviously, it’s a temporary thing—prefs file?

I’m using Entourage 11.2.5.   Any ideas?
