I noticed the delays soon after the first of the last two updates. My Mac is an iMac 600, 512 MB RAM, running Mac OS 10.4.8
The delay occur each time I open Entourage and download email. The delay last about three minutes. Sometimes, but less often, the delay occurs after I return to Entourage and download email. In my operation of Entourage, the only thing that has changed has been system updates.
