Hi Linda, You must be getting frustrated with all the repeated suggestions - I don't have anything new, other than to suggest that if Paul Berkowitz's suggestion about "message export" doesn't work to start using in a new identity, you could just start with a new identity without moving messages over and use the old one as archive. It would be a pain at first, but eventually you'd only have really old stuff in the old identity.
Another thought - have you tried duplicating the problem identity and renaming it? I've seen strange problems go away (usually in database files) just by copying the files. It's at least an easy one to try...
