I finally had time to test the second half of this. Putting the "Problem" Identity in the Shared folder didn't work, as I couldn't find a way to navigate out of the Documents folder under Switch Identity -- it only presents choices of Identities that already exist in the MUD folder, it seems -- so I copied it all the way into the New User's MUD folder, launched Entourage, changed Identities to the Problem Identity -- and it worked, I had all the hs I wanted. So... "Problem Identity" works in a different User on this Mac, and works on a different computer, but not renamed as a "New" Identity in this User. It seems as though Shift h should be broken in all other apps in this User, but it's not -- not even in other Office apps. ow strange. ~Linda (who is updating the following list with each thing she tries) Shift h does not work in Entourage. Shift h does not work in Entourage with a different keyboard. Caps Lock H does work. olding down Shift and "h" for a bit first changes the text cursor to an arrow (normal mouse cursor), and then begins repeating HHHHHHH. If I try to type shift h in the To: field, the typing field deactivates but the entire To: box is highlighted. Shift h does work in all other apps on my Mac, including other Office apps. This problem survived a Safe Boot. This problem survived multiple restarts. This problem survived my throwing away Entourage prefs. This problem survived my throwing away all Office prefs. This problem survived a Compact Database (about 2 hours). This problem survived a Rebuild Database (about 5 hours, most of which was spent in Step 3, Copying To New Database). This problem does not exist in a New User on my Mac. This problem does not exist in a New Identity in Entourage in my User. I copied this Main Identity (Database, Mailing Lists, Rules, Signatures) to another computer, and fired up Entourage on that computer, and Shift h did work. I copied that Main Identity back to this computer, and Shift h did not work. I copied this Main Identity (4 files) to the New User on this Mac, and shift h does work there. I duplicated this Main Identity in the Finder and renamed it, switched Identities in Entourage, and Shift h did not work in the duplicated Identity. I looked at Universal Access, and found nothing using shift h. I threw those prefs away anyway. I opened the Keyboard Shortcuts Preferences pane and hit the Restore Defaults button, and restarted; no luck. I do have the Proofing Tools folder. There's no shift h in Entourage, no matter what font I choose, both in Plain Text and hTML messages. No QuicKeys or anything like that on this computer -- no TypeIt4Me, no DragThing, no Quicksilver, no Launchbar, no Butler, no Tilery, no scripts, etc. When it began, Entourage was 11.0.0; this problem has survived the update to 11.3. Entourage 2004, Dual 2.0Ghz G5, Mac OS X 10.3.9, 2.5GB RAM. I didn't have free time over the holiday to run the scripts to export and import. Very busy with work at the moment and from what's been said, I'll need both time and patience to successfully accomplish an export and subsequent import. -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
