Under the Conversion Menu in PStill . . . If the generated PDF 1.
has different owner and end-user passwords and 2. if Disallow
Printing, 3. Disallow Modification, 4. Disallow Copy (of text and
images) and 5. Disallow Annotation are selected in PStill with 6.
'Strong encyption' also selected it would be difficult for someone to
get into the file.
Also, PStill is only $69 versus a heck of a lot more for full Acrobat
to get that feature.
Furthermore, as long as the file is a PDF that is originally
generated in ANY application such as Word you can still use PStill.
No, I do not work for Stone Studio. I am just auser of PStill.

I do not know if this would meet your needs but why not just
attach a
Password Protected PDF file with high encryption. I use Stone
Studio's Create and PStill to send files I do no want others to
read.
William's suggestion is very good. This has the benefit of not
needing as
much setup and/or training. You do lose the signing part of the
equation, so
that you can verify the sender and content of the message. PDF has
signing
options too, though you will need the full Acrobat to use that.
We're venturing off topic here, but I just wanted to add that not
all PDF
security is respected by all PDF readers; if someone really wants
what's in
your PDF, there's bound to be a PDF reader on one platform or
another that
will crack it -- especially since PDF can also be opened and edited by
illustration programs and imported into layout programs nowadays,
all of
which could potentially expose your content.
