I've just upgraded from Office X to 2004 and decided to take the plunge and
abandon Now Up-to-Date (NUD) and Now Contact (NCT) and try to run my life
out of Entourage (E). I'm using a MDD dual 867 G4 running OS 10.4.9. (This
is a little long but it details everything I've done so far, which should
cut down on traffic.)

I have previously imported data into E X using File Menu>Import>Import
information from a program>Now-Up-to-Date. This worked as advertised, but I
decided to press on with the Now apps and deleted the imported data from E
X.

Now I'm trying to import my contacts dairy into E 2004, and it won't work.
I've circumvented the problem with my contacts by syncing my NCT contacts
file with the Mac Address Book and enabling sync services in E 2004, but I'm
still stuck with the diary because NUD doesn't export to iCal.

Here's what happens (I'll describe NUD but it's exactly the same with NCT):
I choose File Menu>Import>Import information from a program>Now Up-to-Date,
and E reports 'Looking for applications', but then reports "The import from
Now Up-to-Date couldn't be completed because a necessary file Now Up-to-Date
was not found". This happens regardless of whether I have NUD running or
not.

I went back and tried to import into E X (which I've previously done), and
the import failed in exactly the same manner.

Here's what I've done:

Restarted;
Uninstalled Office X (except that I left the preferences);
Installed Office 11.3.4 update;
Deleted the two MS daemons from Login Items and allowed E 2004 to reinstall
them;
Logged in under my 'Test' account which has no additional software
installed;
Repaired permissions;
Run Disk Warrior 4.

None of this has made a skerrick of difference. At every attempt I get: "The
import from Now Up-to-Date couldn't be completed because a necessary file
Now Up-to-Date was not found".

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Steve  = : ^ )
