Slow response when working with contacts

I notice that whenever I have Address Book related functions (finding  
a contact, creating a message--especially a forwarded message, etc.),  
Entourage takes a long time to find names.  I don't have very large  
address books (roughly 150 names), so I can't imagine the search  
being a challenge.  My main address book is housed in Exchange while  
the local address book is also small.  Any thoughts?  Nestor
