I had two different experiences with Spotlight in Entourage. Entourage was enabled with some Office updater. My current version of Office is 11.3.6, although I have the 11.3.7 updater installed. You are running 11.3.3, so you're not up to the current version. Updaters can be done by using the Microsoft AutoUpdate.app, located at... /Applications/Microsoft AutoUpdate.app ...or by the MS manual updates at: <http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx> MS cautions you to apply the manual updaters in order, and not to skip over a version. However, MS does say that Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.2.3 Update does support Spotlight. <http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=20ECFAD3-FFA4-47E1 -AB8E-5483E08C4F2D&displaylang=en> Some time ago I installed the Office updater on two nearly identical Macs, with the same OS (about 10.4.8 at that time), with the same Mac OS and MS Office installed on both Macs. After the restart, one Mac Entourage offered the Entourage preference for Spotlight, while the other Mac Entourage did not. They had been updated at the same time, and should have been identical. Finally, I backed up my drive (especially the Microsoft User Data folder at... /Users/your_user_name/Documents/Microsoft User Data ...and then reinstalled MS Office 2004 from scratch.
