In Lucida Grande (Regular), I find the Apple symbol at Option Shift K.
Likewise Times and Monaco. •

I used to use PopChar, but found FontGridMac to suit my workflow a bit
better. It's been updated and the name changed to Font Examiner, but it
works the same. See it at
