Having described my descent into munged preferences hell earlier, and wondering about IMAP as at least a partial solution to this, I'm curious: what do other Entourage users who travel and who sometimes are away from the internet do regarding the messages on their IMAP servers?
I'm in the habit of catching up on listserv digest reading (this and many others) while traveling. I can use up one or two MacBook Pro batteries in this manner on a long flight. How would I do this with IMAP? Can I use IMAP but still by default keep copies of all my messages locally as well, just using the IMAP server as a backup? Does the IMAP server typically save copies of messages I send, as well as those I receive? Sorry for such basic questions, but they've come up at a moment where I don't have lots of time to look things up while trying to learn Leopard and resurrect or replace my OS installation and avoid losing all my data.
