Database corruption

I am having a number of database corruption issues of recent times, after a
rebuild which can take up to 4 hours I often still can¹t open Ent. And have
to revert to a recent backup.
Does a 9.1 GB database containing approx 75,000 messages getting anywhere
near Ent¹s limits??
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
