I read the Entourage Help Page for "Corrupt Database Fixes."

A friend of mine is *or was, running Entourage X. She is a surfer, and is
good at many things, but does not understand computers very much. She has an
Intel Powerbook, 2 1/2 years old, running OS 10.4.3.

Everything was fine for many years until a couple of days ago, when she got
an error message that her database was too big, and to rebuild and compact.
She went through the process, restarting Ent and holding down the option
key, did an advanced rebuild, and it gradually got up to 62,000 emails. Then
it shifted to compacting the database, then she said it stopped. She does
not remember how she quit out of the process, but her Main Identity folder
looks like this:

Database
Database (Rebuild)
Database (Rebuild) 1
Database (Rebuild) 1 Cache
Database (Rebuild) 2
Database (Rebuild) 2 Cache
Database (Rebuild) 3
Database (Rebuild) 3 Cache

Database (Rebuild) 5
Database (Rebuild) 5 Cache

Obviously, she tried the process over and over. Probably going slowly crazy
realizing what she just lost.

She has many years of emails and attachments, and the database is 3.75 GB
before being rebuilt, and 2.31 GB after being rebuilt and compacted. All
those databases listed above are 2 gigs or more.

Anyway, Entourage will not open. She came over and showed me the situation
and asked for help.

I had her buy Office 2008 and install it, but it will not import her Office
X database. It says, No Entourage X identity found. I tried this in
Entourage 2004 and 2008.

For me, Entourage has always worked without problems, since the program
first came out. I make almost daily backups of the Microsoft User Database
folder, but have never needed to restore, although I have moved between
machines often. So I am not familiar with the process to try to fix her
problem.

Her most recent backup is 6 months ago.
She is willing to pay someone to restore her corrupted database.
I downloaded and ran EntourAid and it can read her Database file and turn it
into a raw text file.

What is my next step in helping her?
