I'd advise using my scripts (obviously!)
I believe that both Allen's and Paul's scripts use the date/time &
subject to identify unique messages. Mine uses the message-id header
(which is uniquely generated at the time of sending a message). If two
messages have the same message-id i guarantee they are duplicates. It
is theoretically possible that two messages could have the same
subject and sent time (if they are coming form a busy mailing list,
for example). Not very likely, but it is possible.
I remember looking at JR's script and forget what method it uses - i
seem to recall it is very thorough, but very slow.
Mine also has some nice audio feedback, just to let you know where
it's up to :)
Seriously, they all do the same job pretty well, they are all robust
and free so try them out and see which you prefer.
