Look in your Gmail settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Under POP Download,
#2, what choice have you made?

Mine is set to "keep Gmail's copy in the inbox" and it seems to do the
trick.

I can't BCC myself, for all the same reasons you don't receive your own
replies to mail groups when you use a Gmail address. I have more than one
Gmali address and simply BCC another address.
