Hello ENTS,

There is another major wind project currently going?through the permitting
process?on private lands in Northern NH. I just attended the public hearing and
was pretty appalled by the amount of potential impact, the over abundance of
local political support, and the lack of sound scientific information presented
both for and against this project. Along with the cutting of old growth
spruce/fir forests and the new creation of?12 miles of 50 to 100'?wide?roads
along the very top of?several ridgelines, this project will have a likely
detrimental impact on countless species in the area.

The proposed mitigations for this project?are somewhere between pitiful and
none existent. Unfortunately the proper hands have been greased and there are
few local citizens in this area to complain. Even worse this is only the first
and smallest of two proposed projects by this company alone.

I am all for alternative energy when developed and sited responsibly. But the
very few remaining undeveloped ridgelines in the northeast are definitely not
the proper place for large scale wind.?Northern New England lends itself to
small scale, localized energy projects as apposed to these Wall Street financed
cash in and cash out constructions deals. I just hope?the local population and
politicians realize this before it is too late.

Tim?

Mark-
To say nothing of how little it would take for terrorists to take out power
across wide segments of the US.? What do the power people not understand about
ARPANET (the strategy of communications that the Internet is loosely based on)?
