Hey....I am not arguing that you're not right, we have always used wgs84 at work. We started with trimble and corvalis tech units before migrating to Garmin which I also use for my personal use. Alll the photos and DRG maps we used were rectified to wgs84 and projected to UTM coordinates. Any outside data we brought in could be "reprojected" (or whatever the word is) with the arcgis program and the MN DNR garmin extension. At home I use mapsource topos and google earth which both use wgs84 and I just assumed most folks did, so when they wanted the coordinates I didn't ask what datum they wanted. If you need a different datum, we can change it fairly simply.
