Barry,

It actually does look like redbud from this photo. But it's a Japanese
Coral Bark Maple. That color is the actual color of the branches. It
makes a great winter ornamental tree. Of course, this is the Eastern
Native Tree Society, so I shouldn't be posting it...but I couldn't
help myself!
