Botany is complex. This sort of thing happens all the time. Just be glad
that you don't have to work buying plants from nurseries. They make huge
mistakes and mislabel and sell the wrong plants. I made a list for my book
of plants frequently mislabeled by nurseries so that buyers can be wary.
Even places like New England Wild Flower Society make huge mistakes. I'm
constantly trying to improve my own botany skills so that I can be sure the
plant I'm buying is the correct plant. I'm looking forward to your photo ID
book. I think it will be very helpful.
