Jenny:

Ecology is defined as interactions among organisms and their
environment. A forest ecology class should include wind storms, fires,
insects, diseases and how these change successional trajectories of the
trees, as well as plant animal interactions such as pollination, grazing
by deer and moose. Also how invasive species get in and change the
niches of other species. Tree-climate-soil interactions and potential
changes with changing climate, both historical and future should also be
included.
