Thanks for your thoughts!  Speculation aside, I think that the clinometer app 
in my iPhone will compare favorably with the best Suunto has to offer...I'll be 
interested in a side by side comparison!
Re your hypsometer, does it follow the sine-sine program of tree height 
determination or the antiquated industry standard...<grin>
By the way, I carry your 880H out every day...a good backup to our sine-sine 
system!
