That brochure wants to encourage landowners to manage for older growth
which is a good thing. At the same time some forestry programs are
paying landowners to clearcut some of their forest for wildlife because
they say there is a dearth of early successional habitat. The truth is
the shortage of older forests is real while the shortage of early
successional habitat is a myth.
