Jenny, There are some novels that take place specifically in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. The woods and forests figure prominantly in the stories, though the stories aren't really about trees. If you'd like I can email you my recommended reading list that I maintain. Members of my Yahoo group get it in their email when they join, and it's also in the files section of that group.
