Will, I didn't take enough time to notice if it was a house site. It very well could have been. There are house sites scattered around in the Pine Barrens, as well as complete village sites. I need to go back and check into it some more. Barry

As for it's location out of range, it could have been an old homeplace where all remnants of the house or cabin are gone. Did you find it along an old road? See any old bottles or other debris around?
