Sounds great Beth! I am a firm believer that anyone who owns property ought
to plant trees and shrubs to the degree possible within the space
constraints. Both for wildlife habitat, and to help combat global warming by
helping to absorb some CO2. Plus trees look good. Also they shade the house
in the summer and help screen it from cold winds in the winter. All that
stuff.

Kirk,

Your yard sounds like the yard I am trying to get to. I have 1/3 of acre
with trees already on the property but I planted 11 bur oak and 25 deciduous
hollys. I also have a sassafras that I need to transplant, it is growing
under my deck. Oh, by the way, 35 out 36 trees planted had/have leaves on
them after one summer.

Beth

Trees are the answer.--bumper sticker from Illinois Forest Association

I have very little grass as a percentage of my property. And that I cut in
a few minutes when needed with an old-fashioned push reel mower. Zero
emissions (unless I pass gas while I'm working).
