I fear these guys waited too long, but here's their site. At least they know that the only real short term solution is chemical treatment. Nothing about saving hemlocks by releasing beetles.
http://www.savegeorgiashemlocks.org/ The last time I was hiking in north Georgia, all of the hemlocks were dead wherever I looked. There were some nice stands of hemlocks around Blood Mountain, though. Maybe it's not too late to save some of those. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Eastern Native Tree Society http://www.nativetreesociety.org Send email to [email protected] Visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/entstrees?hl=en To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
