Have fun. In 8 days I'm off to the western Caribbean. I've signed up for a tour of some of the jungle in Belize.

Events started off Friday with a canoe trip to King and Baker Islands I the Allegheny River Islands Wilderness. The weather unfortunately did not cooperate. It was a rainy cold, day and most of the people planning on participating cancelled, myself included. The trip still occurred with Dale Luthringer, Turner Sharp, Doug Bidlack, and Ellen Bidlack. Dale canoed and the others brought kayaks. I will let them post about the trip. I spent a short time setting up video equipment for the presentations on Saturday, then Tony Kelly and I visited Beartown Rocks for a couple hours during a break in the rain. I already have posted about the Beartown Rocks trip. http://groups.google.com/group/entstrees/browse_thread/thread/382a2ec... Ed.Ents: It may have been my imagination but I believe Randy Brown got just as wet and miserable as anybody on the canoe trip that Dale made us go on. One goal of the trip was to find two more species to measure heights to complete a Rucker Index of the Islands. We failed. Having said that I thoroughly enjoyed our little paddle but am still somewhat perplexed at the species we did not see. ie examples of Boxelder, Cottonwood, Green Ash, Hackberry. I am off to Joshua Tree Mational Monument to warm up and dry out and hopefully measure some palm trees.
