Great work. Your confirmation of Catamount State Forest as having a white ash in the 140 Club is significant. The following locations have been confirmed with white ash trees that make it to 140 or within inches. State Location Maximum # 140s Confirmed MA MTSF 152.3 16 (I have more, but can't rule out including a couple of the same trees more than once) MA Catamount 143.4 1 MA Ice Glen 140.2 1 (I couldn't confirm 140 on my last visit, but it is close and was 140 once) NY Kaaterskill Falls 140.5 (approx) 1 NY Zoar Valley 140+ 1 PA Rickets Glen 140 (approx) 1 I plan to go to Smith Brook in MSF today. Several years ago, I measured an ash to 138 and some change. It may have reached 140. Mohawk's dominance is probably more an indication of the status of the species within the Deerfield River Gorge corridor.
