Kirk, I have not been in New Zealand. It would be a great destiation, for sure, and comes soon after my top 5.
I calculated in New Zealand national parks are 11% of total area. That may well be the highest percentage excluding Denmark. Greenland belongs to Denmark, and huge North-East Greenland National Park (about one million square km) is 44% of Denmark's total area. I have read those North American conifers are also serious invasives in New Zealand.
