Thanks. Glad you weighed in. I hadn't thought of hunting season. I wonder if Jennifer would run into hunters on the Giant Ledge Trail. I usually see hunters in lower elevations and in less steep terrain. Maybe the Catskills are different. Is that the case? In terms of maps, with Google Maps available, producing a neat terrain map with roads on it is a cinch. Monica and I hope to visit you in the southern Catskills. It will likely be spring, if you'll be around. I have plenty of guide books too, but just wanted to check in here first before taking off. Alternatively I could visit the Shawangunks, which are to the south. I've been to the Hudson Highlands, Black Rock Forest, and to Harriman State Park, and Bear Mt. State Park so I wanted to go a little further afield. Any ideas come to mind? I'm sure I've seen recommendations before, by hopefully you won't mind writing again. Thanks!
