We'll take whatever data we can get on tuliptrees, but 4 feet around is a very 
small tuliptree.

Hey Bob; 
The biggest striped maple I ever encountered was 14" dbh back around 1988 
in Hawley State Forest... I was amazed it had reached such a size! By the 
way, I haven't forgotten I'd said I would measure that tuliptree at my 
next door neighbor's front yard... but as soon as you (or someone else?) 
had mentioned keeping an eye out for tuliptrees of 7 feet or so in girth 
or bigger... well, my neighbor's tuliptree is probably only about 4 feet 
or so... still a big one, in my book, but probably not ENTS-worthy... as 
Billy Pilgrim says, "so it goes!"
