We have 10 to 11 footers all over Egg Harbor City (street trees). I've heard
that my maternal grandmother planted street trees in Egg Harbor City when she
was a kid. She died in 2003, aged 98. I have sent photos of two different 11
foot + Tuliptrees in Egg Harbor City so far.
This is New Jersey, by the way.

Hey Bob;
The biggest striped maple I ever encountered was 14" dbh back around 1988
in Hawley State Forest... I was amazed it had reached such a size!  By the
way, I haven't forgotten I'd said I would measure that tuliptree at my
next door neighbor's front yard... but as soon as you (or someone else?)
had mentioned keeping an eye out for tuliptrees of 7 feet or so in girth
or bigger... well, my neighbor's tuliptree is probably only about 4 feet
or so... still a big one, in my book, but probably not ENTS-worthy... as
Billy Pilgrim says, "so it goes!"
