Doug,
I agree. Raymond Anderson is to be congratulated. I'll bet there are dozens of Ents (who just don't know they are Ents) out there. We need to find them and woo them. Here are the measurements: Girth at 4.5' = 24.36' (292.3") Crown Spread (measured to nearest 0.5') 130.5' 108.0' 121.0' 115.5' mean of max and min = 119.25' mean of all four measurements = 118.75' Height = 84.44' AF Points = 407 The most recent official measurements were: Girth = 281" Height = 90' Spread = 124' Points = 402 I think these measurements were made in 2002 but I'm not positive. The owner, Raymond Anderson, made measurements in 2006. These were: Girth = 288" Height = 90' Spread = 128' Points = 410 I thought these previous measurements were quite good, especially considering some of the truly horrible measurements that are so commonplace. I made a few more girth measurements as well. @1' = 34.55' @2' = 30.95' @3' = 27.52' @4' = 25.20' @5' = 23.58' @6' = 23.00' @7' = 23.05' @8' = 23.78' I've attached a few pictures as well. The first one shows what the tree looked like in 1949 and 2004 from approximately the same angle. I thought this was pretty cool! The Anderson's had this hanging in their house and I just had to get a pictue of it. The second shot is of the tree in summer of 2007. I already posted this one but I thought it would be nice to show it again. I took the third shot on the 18th of December after we finished measuring it. The fourth shot is also from December but from the opposite side of the tree.
