Friends,
I have a 500 IS lens with both the 1.4x and the 2.0x extenders. I'm
wondering which would give me the best final print from a digital image.
First, The best (I think raw) digital image you can get from a full
frame 500 (1.6 x 500 = 800mm effective focal length) shot with the Canon
D30 camera.
Second, The cropped section of a 500 IS lens with a 1.4x extender using
Provia 100F film and scanned with a 4000 dpi scanner shot with an EOS
1v.
I am thinking about buying the D30 just to use with my 500 IS lens when
I need extra length.
