Actually considering the price of a new 400/2.8 is no less than a new
300/2.8 IS, I don't think 2K is a price to be worried about for a lens
that's been used and abused. I would also think it's a matter of a dealer
you've been going to for a while cutting you a good deal for something that
may get stuck on his shelf for months depending on the market in your area.
