So far the reviews and individual raves for the EOS 30/Elan 7 are
overwhelming the earlier questions about its features and lack thereof
(spot, a/f assist etc.). When it is only a matter of looking at specs it is
hard to make a real evaluation. Now that the results are in, the pros and
cons of these individual features recede considerably into the background.
My enthusiasm for the camera is increasing and the siren song of the Maxxum
7 at twice the price with no Canon lenses fades. Jim Vanson's comparison of
the 30 to the 50/II also puts the performance numbers into a more real
context than they could be just as numbers.
