Hello all. My name is Tom Cavallo and I have been receiving the Digest for a
couple of weeks now--alot of useful info here. I started using SLR's 30
years ago with Canon, however for the past 20 or so years I have been using
various Nikons. Two weeks ago I sold all my Nikon equipment (D1, F4, F3, and
a slew of lenses) and dove in to the Canon system. A year waiting for the VR
lens, and still not being able to buy one was the last straw.
I bought a Canon D30 Digital with Battery Holder, a EOS3 with PB-E2, 100-400,
17-35, 28-135, 100 Macro, 75-300, 70-200/4, 1.4x, 2x, 14mm Tamron, 550EX, and
various and sundry accessories. I think that these IF lenses are incredible.
My question is does anyone here use any FD lenses or Adaptall mount (FD)
lenses with EOS using an FD to EOS adapter? I realize that there would be no
AF, but I was wondering if there is any way to meter through the lens with
this combo--perhaps on manual? I have a Tamron 300mm f2.8 and an FD adaptall
and would like to be able to use it on the D30 or EOS3 occasionally.
Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
Tom C
