Hello all.  My name is Tom Cavallo and I have been receiving the Digest for a 
couple of weeks now--alot of useful info here.  I started using SLR's 30 
years ago with Canon, however for the past 20 or so years I have been using 
various Nikons.  Two weeks ago I sold all my Nikon equipment (D1, F4, F3, and 
a slew of lenses) and dove in to the Canon system.  A year waiting for the VR 
lens, and still not being able to buy one was the last straw.
I bought a Canon D30 Digital with Battery Holder, a EOS3 with PB-E2, 100-400, 
17-35, 28-135, 100 Macro, 75-300, 70-200/4, 1.4x, 2x, 14mm Tamron, 550EX, and 
various and sundry accessories.  I think that these IF lenses are incredible.
My question is does anyone here use any FD lenses or Adaptall mount (FD) 
lenses with EOS using an FD to EOS adapter?  I realize that there would be no 
AF, but I was wondering if there is any way to meter through the lens with 
this combo--perhaps on manual?  I have a Tamron 300mm f2.8 and an FD adaptall 
and would like to be able to use it on the D30 or EOS3 occasionally.
Any info would be appreciated.  Thank you.
