Hello Gary,
I own an EOS-3 and wear coated glasses. It was impossible to calibrate the
ECF with my glasses. When my father tried it (wearing his glasses) he had
no problems at all. Then I put my glasses down and it worked, too - although
I couldn't really say if the object was in focus ;-)
Maybe it depends on the coating.
