> FOCUS ASSIST NEGATIVE- The ABSURD USE OF THE PRIMARY FLASH

Ever get the feeling the camera designers do this stuff on purpose?
They design the perfect camera, then some marketing exec. says, "hey,
it's too good, cripple it somehow" and the designers take off the IR
focus assist light, or screw up the command dial (A2), or leave off
mirror lockup (F100), or use a purple LED readout in the finder that
can't be seen in daylight (RTS III).

For EOS 7 owners: how much of a drag is the missing IR light in
actual practice? I've heard the better AF focuses in lower light
than its predecessor, so maybe the IR light really isn't missed
much? Or is this just wishful thinking on my part?
