Hmm, did you read the instructions with the Omnibounce? Are you tilting the
head up? Check out my Omnibounce tests on my website. I've never had any
kind of hot spots with or without the omnibounce and my 380EX. I can't see
what the flash mode would have to do with it either, maybe you flash's zoom
feature is stuck at tele setting and you're shooting wide angle???
