Still ON TOPIC, since the XL1 can accept EF lenses with a whopping
7.2x sensor factor for focal length. Good for long lenses, but

So, imagine putting L glass on the XL1 and using only 13% of the
central image area to fill a 0.3 Megapixel sensor.
But wait! We don't need to imagine. Canon has a picture of this
exact scenario, with no less than five L lenses! Enough to make
one weep.
