I just got two 420EX flashes and now need something to "master" them. I am
considering the ST-E2 and the 550EX. I am curious, can you use the 550EX as
the master but not have it actually "flash" -- or, restated, does the 550EX
actually have to emit a flash if it is to be the master of two 420EX's or
can it just trigger the other flashes without having to flash itself? I
hope my question is not too confusing to understand....
