You're the only judge of what's best for you. Everyone has their own ideas, unless you go by MTF scores. I was considering the Tokina 19-35 based on positive remarks from other people. I found one being sold second-hand locally, and the owner let me shoot a few trial pictures with it. The lens felt very solid and heavy - plastic-coated metal barrel, which was interesting. The MF clutch business (a sliding ring to disengage autofocus) was a bit weird. But I was thoroughly disappointed with the results. Sharpness was poor throughout the range, though colour was okay. I ended up buying the Canon 20mm 2.8 and I'm very satisfied with it. I already have a 28 and a 28-105, so the whole 28-35 range isn't important to me. I rarely shoot transparencies so I can crop if necessary. And I appreciate the sharpness and speed of a prime lens. But I've never tried the Canon 20-35 3.5-4.5 so I can't offer any opinions on that one; sorry. - Neil K. * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
