Hi Pierre,
A lot of the new Canon lenses no longer have the
date/factory code on them anymore (only a serial
number), so that method can't be used for them.
I wonder whether anyone has tried running a scanner
over the newer lenses to see if they have an embedded
microchip giving the date of manufacture - you know
like the chips they use in dogs and cats now when they
register them ;-)
