My Canon 28-135 IS was also recently acquired and has sn 4700360F ... but I
can't find the serial number anywhere on the lens, only on the warranty card.
Same situation with a new 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. These are the first new
Canon lenses that I've bought in over ten years ... and my older lenses all
have the serial number in fairly large white lettering near the mount end
of the lens. Where are the numbers now hidden?
