Hi Vesa, I bought the 28 -135 IS when the delivery of my 28 - 70L was held
up and I had an assignment booked and had to have something. I have found
the 28 - 135 to perform extremely well and decided to keep it. For handheld
work the IS lens is the equivalent of the 2.8 as you really can run at 2
stops slower and get a good result - depending on the subject and whether it
is moving. For print work the difference optically can be hard to pick. I
tend to use the 28 - 70 when doing magazine slide work which involves
statics and detail work which requires the sharpest images possible. For
other work I often take the 28 - 135 for its lighter weight and better focal
range. If I wasn't doing professional work I would probably sell the 28 - 70
and keep the other. Just my opinion of course.
Regards, Tim
