Just about a week ago I received my new 7E body with a Tokina 28-80 ATX Pro
lens. From the start I noticed two problems with my camera. The first
occurs whenever I take a shot anywhere from 28 to about 30mm. After the
shutter fires the mirror fails to return. The only way I can get it down is
to zoom about beyond about 30. I checked this with the back open and the
shutter is fine; it's definitely a problem with the mirror. The second
problem is that when the mirror returns it seems to settle a fraction of
inch just after coming down. Through the viewfinder this manifests as a
small but annoying bump in the image.
Has anyone had or heard of anyone having these problems. I'm leaning
towards placing blame with the body as they are both mirror-related issues.
