Hi Marco,
If you look through the archives of the list, you'll
find a lot of compatibility problems with NEW EOS
bodies and existing 3rd party lenses. Sigma have
acknowledged (on their web site) compatibility
problems with a lot of their lenses with the Elan
7/7e, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the lens at
fault. A lot of the body/lens compatibility problems
in the archives are also mirror related.
If possible take your 7e along to a camera shop and
try the body with some genuine Canon lenses - see if
the problem persists. Maybe you could try your Tokina
on another 7e, and also on an older model like a IIe
or a Rebel. That way you can work out which bit is at
fault, then get the faulty bit fixed or replaced.
